Why a classroom set

Six pens, one socket, nothing missing

Six pens used to mean six cables competing for one power strip, and six loose power banks that somebody has to count at the end of the day. The set answers both at once. All six banks live in the docking station, charge there together from a single wall socket, and go back there when the lesson ends.

That matters most in the room nobody watches all the time. A school buys equipment that stays in the workshop between lessons, and the station is what keeps it there: complete, in one place and charged for the next group.

How long a charge lasts

Up to about 3 hours, stated honestly

An EDUstick® 3D pen is powered over USB-C at 5 V / 2 A, which is 10 W. A 10,000 mAh bank holds about 37 Wh, and after conversion losses roughly 31 to 33 Wh are usable at the output. That works out at up to about 3 hours in the hardest case: the pen heating continuously at high temperature.

In the pen's low-temperature PCL mode, and with the pauses that real drawing brings, a charge lasts longer. We do not quote a figure for that, because it has not been measured. The numbers above are working estimates from the ratings, not a laboratory result.

The docking station is part of the price and part of the point. It charges all six banks from one wall socket and it protects them against theft, so a set left in a workshop between lessons is still a set of six the next morning.

Fits every EDUstick® pen

Every EDUstick® 3D pen is powered over USB-C at 5 V / 2 A, 10 W. Each power bank in the set delivers 5 V / 2 A over USB-A, so one cable is all that stands between a docked bank and a working pen. SOLO and Co-LAB, blue and purple, all the same.

Six banks cover six pens, which is a full Co-LAB table without a single extension lead across the floor.

These are full power banks, not pen-only accessories. The same USB-A output tops up a phone or a tablet on a school trip.

How to start

Connect the docking station to a wall socket, drop all six power banks into their slots and let them charge together. One plug for the whole set.

Then take a bank to the desk, connect the pen to the USB-A output, press the button on the bank and work. No socket at the desk, no cable across the floor.

After the lesson every bank goes back into its own slot. The set charges overnight, an empty slot tells you at a glance that something has not come back, and the station keeps the banks where they belong until the next group.

Safety and certification

Every power bank in the set carries CE, RoHS and UKCA marking and ships with its compliance documentation.

Not for the youngest. Not suitable for children under 3, because it contains small parts.

Sealed housing. The units are maintenance free. A housing should only be opened by a qualified electrician, because of the risk of electric shock and short circuit.

Where it lives. Keep the set away from high temperatures, humidity and dust. Nothing in it goes into water.

End of life. Dispose of it through WEEE collection, never with household waste.

Adult supervision is still recommended in a classroom.

Who it is for

This is equipment for a room, not for a desk. Six banks charge from one socket, so a group of six pens stops competing for the single power strip by the wall and setup stops eating into the lesson.

It is also equipment that stays put. The docking station protects the individual power banks against theft, which is what a school needs when the workshop is unlocked between lessons and nobody is counting accessories at the door.

Care and charging

The docking station charges all six banks together from one wall socket. Away from the station, any bank recharges over USB-C from a standard charger, the same way a phone is topped up.

Wipe the housings with a slightly damp cloth and no cleaning agents. No part of the set goes into water.

Charge the set before a long period of storage, and keep it away from heat, humidity and dust.
