How dual-color filament works

Two PLA strands of different colors are co-extruded into a single 1.75 mm filament, with the colors lying side-by-side along the entire length. When you print, both colors lay down together — but because they sit on different sides of each printed line, light reflects differently as you rotate the object. The result: a color-shifting surface that moves, without needing a multi-material printer or any tool change.

Blue-Green: ocean depths, mermaid-scale aesthetic. Blue-Yellow: tropical, electric, high-contrast. Gold-Copper: warm metallic luxury, perfect for jewelry and ornaments. Purple-Blue: cosmic, twilight, mood-piece feel. Every combination is engineered for maximum color separation — you'll see both colors clearly on a finished print, not a muddy mix.

Recommended print settings
  • Nozzle temperature: 215–235 °C (slightly higher for max silk gloss)
  • Bed temperature: 50–60 °C
  • Print speed: 40–80 mm/s (slower = better color separation)
  • Cooling fan: 50–80% (lower fan = better silk effect)
  • Retraction: 0.4–0.8 mm (direct drive), 2–4 mm (bowden)
  • Layer height: 0.15–0.2 mm for crisp color definition
  • Drying (if humid): 45 °C for 4 hours

Pro tip: vase mode and gentle curves show off the dual color best. Sharp corners and flat tops tend to mix the colors visually — design with curves.
